Why Busy Women Need to Restore

Something not acknowledged enough is that rest is not a reward. It is not something you need to earn by being productive or achieving something. It is something you are entitled to simply because you are human.

And yet, most of the women I know, myself included, treat it like a luxury. Something left off the to-do list, something that feels self-indulgent when there is still so much to do.

If you are anything like the women in our community, you are probably very good at doing a lot. You show up, you deliver, and somewhere in between you find time to grow, learn and be present for the people you love. All of the women in the Flourish Network are ambitious, capable, and deeply committed to their lives and their work. They are also often exhausted. Not because they are doing anything wrong, but because the culture we operate in does not make it easy to stop. To breathe. To simply bem without producing anything.

Restoration is not an indulgence. It is how you stay in the game long term. It is what makes the ambition, the leadership, and the love you bring to everything else actually sustainable.

"Success is the amount of joy you allow yourself to feel." - Emilya Colliver, founder of Flourish Women’s Networking

One of Flourish’s guiding principles is elevating and restoring. It exists because we believe that community is not only about connection and growing. It is also about recharging. It is about giving women a space to step out of the relentlessness, to breathe, and to remind themselves of the life beyond their to-do. Elevate and restore is designed for exactly the woman who thinks she does not have time in her schedule for some rest. We host events with the intention of connection.

In our events, we have seen how much our community needs moments like these. When women give themselves a genuine space to rest and reflect, they leave feeling clearer, more themselves, and more capable of taking on the work they care about.

On May 7th, join us for a beautiful night of sound, scent, and stillness - featuring a restorative sound bath, a women’s circle, Pureheart Alchemy fragrances, light food on arrival, and wonderful company.

The evening will begin with a short grounding circle, followed by a deeply immersive sound journey with Mia Burlinson and Izabella from Pureheart Alchemy, designed to calm the nervous system and create space to unwind.

This is a quiet, nurturing Flourish gathering, an opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and simply be.

If you have been looking for restorative events for women in Sydney, or simply a reason to finally give yourself an evening that belongs entirely to you, we would love to have you at our Sound Bath on 7 May.

You do not have to be burned out to benefit. You do not have to have it all figured out or be in crisis. You just have to be willing to show up, lie down, and let yourself be restored.

That is enough.

Flourish Women's Networking runs events across Sydney and Melbourne throughout the year. To find out about upcoming gatherings, visit our home page.
